With pressing priorities, making quick meals that are delicious and nutritious can be a challenge, but it does not have to be. In this class, you experience how easy and fun it can be making your food in only 30 minutes between preparation and a finished dish. Recipes may include, but are not limited to, Spaghetti Carbonara, Curried Shrimp in Coconut Milk, and Mushroom Stroganoff.

Join us in a very friendly atmosphere to learn a unique way of cooking and baking. In this class we will prepare entrées with meat, vegetarian dishes, soups, as well as pastries. All foods will be prepared using a variety of Middle Eastern spices and will be made from scratch with your own hands. There will be a $10.00 cash fee each week for the purchase of food supplies you will be using in class. The food you make in class, you will take home for yourself. The teacher will make some of the dishes before-hand and the class will eat together at the end of each session. Put on your apron, roll up your sleeves, and join the ride into Armenian Cooking Cuisine where good food and good friends go hand-in-hand.

Join Master Chef and cookbook author, Rose Lee, while she guides you to the delights of Chinese culture and foods. Learn your way around this unique section of downtown Boston as we explore the nooks and crannies of both old and new Chinatown. Visit Asian markets, Chinese bakeries, favorite restaurants, arts and gift shops. Learn about Traditional Chinese Medicine and visit Chinatown’s oldest herbal shop to meet the herbalists and learn about some of their products. Also learn about Chinatown’s exotic fruits and vegetables and how to prepare them. Find a wholesale Kitchen Supplier and Asian cookware.

Enjoy samples of Chinese pastries and Chinatown’s best BBQ. Taste the area’s best steamed dumplings from a famous dumpling house and learn how to make them. And find a wholesale Noodle company that sells Asian noodles, dumplings and wrappers. Learn about the many varieties of Chinese teas and how to make Kung-Fu tea.

The tour will culminate in a sit-down lunch at a favorite restaurant (The meal cost is not included in your registration fee. Participants share the costs, payable at the restaurant.) This is a walking tour. Wear comfortable shoes. Chinatown is near South Station and Orange/Green Line T stops. Public transportation is recommended but parking garages are available. Directions and meeting place will be sent, by your registration host, before the tour date. Please note that transportation to Boston is not provided.

Feel the holiday spirit as we prepare homemade cookies to serve at home or give as special gifts to family and friends. We'll make delicious Snickerdoodles, a cinnamon flavored cookie with warm centers and crispy edges, plus melt in your mouth sugar cookies that we'll decorate with buttercream frosting and other colorful holiday toppings, and lastly a delicious no fuss, no bake, chocolate nut and raisin cookie. We'll have a tasting party with finished cookies! Recipes will be provided including a cookie-in-a-jar recipe for gift giving.

Join us for a festive evening of holiday pie making. Observe the step by step easy instruction as we prepare old fashioned Apple Pie, a delicious must have for any season. Another holiday standby is velvety Pumpkin Pie that we will garnish with a walnut topping, a perfect accompaniment to the smooth tasting pie, and lastly a delicious Praline and Vanilla Pudding Pie. We will make our own pie crust and also try a time saving pre-made pie crust. Enjoy a tasting party when the pies come out of the oven! Recipes will be provided.

This is a beginners course in learning how to adapt and transition to Raw Food Living. In this course you will learn how to prepare simple meals for breakfast, lunch, dinner, appetizers and desserts. You will learn the importance of raw vs. cooked, proper food combining, how raw food contributes to weight loss, more energy, and assisting in reversing diseases. Recipes will include, but not be limited to, chia pudding, corn chowder, zucchini noodles with hemp and basil pesto, raw lasagna, raw tacos, kale salad, vegetable dip, and raw energy balls, almond or hemp milk, green smoothies and wheatgrass juice. By the end of this course you will learn about juicing vs blending, nut and seed milks, sprouting, dehydrating, and what tools you need in raw food preparation. You will learn the proper techniques in raw food preparation so you can try to make your own recipes. You will receive a binder with recipes, handouts, and resources. If you have any health issues or concerns then this is the course for you as this course will teach you how you can help yourself feel better by the food choices you make. Learn to make traditional potato gnocchi served with a gorgonzola cream sauce and a simple marinara. Focaccia bread is a dimpled Italian flatbread that is easy to make. We will be using a variety of ingredients including olives, sun dried tomatoes, fresh herbs, and cheese. Once you learn the basic technique you can make it with your favorite ingredients.

This course will help you find alternatives to the more common food allergens like gluten, wheat, nuts, and dairy. You will learn how to prepare some of the different grains like amaranth, buckwheat and quinoa, what the best pastas are that are gluten free, how to prepare nut and seed milks. This course will teach you about all the different foods that are out there but were afraid to try. Recipes may include, but not limited to, toasted quinoa with almond milk and peaches, roasted eggplant and vegetables over buckwheat (kasha). This course will wake up your taste buds for sure. By the end of the course you will learn many different alternatives to food allergens. You will receive handouts with resources and recipes. It's time to stop depriving yourself, now's your chance to be able to try new foods. There will be a $15.00 food fee at the beginning of the first class.
