Join us in a very friendly atmosphere to learn a unique way of cooking, and baking.  In this class we will prepare humos (a chickpea and tahin appetizer) and babaganoosh (an eggplant and tahin appetizer).  All foods will be prepared using a variety of Middle Eastern spices and will be made from scratch with your own hands. 
The food you make in class, you will take home for yourself.  The teacher will make some of the dishes before-hand and the class will eat together at the end of the class.

Armenian Cooking - Soup and Kufta

 In this class you will learn how to make your own spinach and cheese boreggs with phyllo dough and also homemade dough.  Also learn how easy it is to make taboule which is a salad using parsley, scallions and tomatoes.  The food you make is yours to take home.

Please bring these items to class:  a large spoon, pastry brush, a small saucepan, large bowl, cutting board, chopping knife, large rectangular container with a lid, and  round container with a lid.

In this class you will learn how easy it is to make your own paklava (a phyllo dough and walnut pastry) and semeat cookies, buttery and light, goes great with coffee.  The food you make is yours to take home.

Don’t let  the kitchen be a place of fear and confusion. In this class we will conquer the kitchen – learning the basics of cooking – foods, knife skills, and equipment –as well as learning to cook several dishes – including a one-pot gourmet meal.The second half of the course will be devoted to what the class members want to learn how to prepare. The course will also have an optional seventh class – a trip to a restaurant supply store where you can get the equipment that the professionals use.

There is a $5.00 (cash only) fee per class to cover the cost of supplies.

Indian Cuisine - An Introduction

Come enjoy a fun night learning how to make delicious Indian food full of flavor and warm spices. In this class, you will learn how to make Chicken Tikka Masala, a chicken dish with a combination of spices in a flavorful sauce. To accommodate this meal, you will also learn the technique on how to make "Roti" bread. This is a flat bread used frequently in Indian meals. Another tasty vegetable to go with our meal will be Fried Okra with spices dusted with fine chickpea flour, accompanied with Tamarind Chutney Sauce that we will make in class. To end on a sweet note, we will make a dessert with Carrot & Raisins. A handout with recipes will be provided.

Make It A Meal - Soup and Salads

Having soup and salad for a meal can be delicious and interesting depending on use of fresh ingredients.  If you are a new cook, or just someone who wants to explore different flavors on these two basic concepts, you will enjoy the variations in this class.  We will make an Asian style Peanut Soup (which will be made with a foundation base that can be used for other dishes).  We'll also explore "flavorprints" (using spices that distinguish national cuisines), such as "Middle Eastern Salad with Seared Chicken and Lemon Mint Dressing" and a "French Spinach Salad with a Tarragon Mustard Dressing."  This class will end with making Poached Pears with a Reduction Sauce.                       Handouts with recipes will be provided.
