Whether you are a looking for a new hobby or to refresh your old skills, this class is a great way to explore beginner piano. The goal of the course is not only todevelop a solid musical foundation in piano which will greatly assist in thefuture pursuit of any musical instrument in any style, but most importantly toinstill in the student a genuine love and appreciation for music.

Equipment:any keyboard priced between $60-100 will be sufficient. 61, 76, 88 key will be fine.

This course is especially designed for those individuals who love guitar music and would enjoy performing. Class objectives consist of participants mastering the basics of the instrument which include tuning the guitar, learning major, minor and dominant chords, using a variety of strumming patterns and simple finger picking styles, and recognizing by ear common chord progressions. Classes will provide participants with exposure to classical, pop and jazz guitar music. All class participants must provide his/her own guitar, preferably an acoustic or classical.

This course will help develop an understanding of how music works and why something sounds good.  Students will learn different scales and applications while learning about chord substitutions and voicings.  Also, students will have the opportunity to "jam" and learn about different genres of guitar music including classical, rock, blues, and jazz.

Requirements:  Students must have successfully completed a guitar beginners course or possess knowledge and experience playing basic open chords and Barre chords.
All students should have an acoustic guitar and guitar tuner.
